Please explain to me.....

Ok, I feel foolish. I do not use Google Reader. I use Google Follower. I go to Blogger and read everyone's blogs from there. I don't know how to use Google Reader....does it still take you to the person's blog to read their post? Or is it set up like an email? One of the things I most enjoy about reading the blogs is visiting them....I don't want to just read posts email style.

Could someone explain it to me? Sorry to be so ignorant...... :)

I answered your question in my comments on my blog.

As for the above question - it doesn't take you to their blog, but you can easily get there from Google Reader. What it does is it shows you the latest posts (with images, too) of the subscription. After you click on the subscription, then you'll see the post(s). If you want to read it on their actual blog, you click the name of the post or the name of the blog above the post.

I don't like google reader as well as follower.
Reader shows it all where follower, you have to click on it to read. Follower is more like going from your side bar blog roll!

I'm with you - am still learning all the ins and outs of this follower/blog roll/google reader stuff! I'm easily frustrated and confused by too much "stuff", so I just click on my blog roll when the mood strikes and it takes me to their blog right away, and I can tell from the title if it's not new from last time I was there, at which point I x away and go to the next one. I've also had to limit how many I actually bookmark for the same reason - and don't know how anyone can keep up with dozens if not hundreds. I go regularly to those few I really really enjoy or have something in common with, but just pop in occasionally on others. So many talented blogs, so little time!

I use follower. I tried using Google Reader and just ended up way too confused by it.

By the way, I like the new format!

I follow all of my blogs through the Blogger dashboard - in fact, my blog is bookmarked on that page so it always comes up first. Those not on Blogger, I just click on their blog in my blogroll. I sign up for RSS feeds, but it's difficult for me to follow a blog that way.

Okay, that probably didn't help at all! Guess everyone needs to find a system that works for THEM. Maybe that's what I was trying to say...

I just love Google reader. I haven't had any problems with it. I just follow all blogs through it.

I like Google Reader too. I just subscribe to a blog and it is put in the reader. Throughout the day, I go into the reader and click on a variety of blogs on my list. I read the posts and then if I want to comment then I click on the title which opens a new window with the post and then I comment from there. What I like best about it is that I can see what I have and haven't read. It keeps track for me.

I LOVE Google Reader because you can follow more than just Blogger (i.e., Wordpress, Typepad, etc.). It makes it so handy and I know that I will never miss anything. Once I read a post that I like, I can email it to myself as a reminder, share it (if it is something that I want to come back to), mark it as unread and read it later, and am only one click away from going directly to a specific post on the original blog where I can then make comments. I even have the blogs I follow in different categories so that I can check the ones that are my favorites if I only have limited time. And, did you know that you can also view how many others subscribe to your own personal blog(s) -- this is different from followers on your dashboard -- and receive other stats about it as well? Pretty cool!! If you have any questions about any of it, just holler! Once I figured it out, I knew that I would never go back!! :)
