Yesterday, as I was happily reading some the blogs that I follow, I found some blogs on their pages that appealed to me, and I wanted to add them to my list of blogs that I follow. All of a sudden, I get a message in RED that informed me that I was following 300 blogs, and that was the limit. 300. It said "you must unsubscribe from some blogs" before I could add others.
I am upset that I had to unsubscribe from a few that I followed, and I don't want those blog owners to feel snubbed. Why is there a limit? There are SO MANY wonderful blogs to be read. I hated to unsubscribe because now those blogs have lost a follower. :(
Has anyone else run into this problem? If so, what do you do? Do you keep a separate list of blogs that are over your 300 limit so that you may refer to it? I am at a loss.

I've heard about that glitch... I haven't run into it myself, yet, but I have a feeling I'll be close. I did hear that there's a glitch with Google Followers, and you can follow the blog if they have the widget on your page, but you just can't add it into your list of followed blogs where you manage them. Don't know for a fact if that's true, I think J. Kaye may have mentioned it at one time...
Where are you trying to subscribe to these blogs? I use Google Reader and haven't had that problem. That stinks.

Oh, I did not know that. I have some I follow in google reader and some on my sidebar so luckily I haven't come across that problem
Yikes! I've been hovering around 250, so I haven't experienced that dreaded message. That's not good news.
I had no idea there is a limit. What do you use...google reader?
I think Lenore has the same problem! It's terrible - Google needs to change this!
I think my problem is that I'm using Google Follower. I have signed up for Google Reader. Now I just need to get used to using it! :)

I use Google Reader and I'm following 387 blogs. I've never had a problem. What are you using? Also which browser do you use? I use internet explorer.
I have been using Mozilla. I will switch to explorer. I think there is a limit on Google Follower. I am going to start using Reader instead. :)
Vivienne: I do not think that Reader has a limit as to how many blogs you are following. :)
I use Google Reader and so far have avoided that issue! BUT, I don't know if I'm at 300 or not yet! I'm not very good about keeping track of the number of blogs I follow!
the followers widget only allows 300 blogs. I use google reader, which allows you to subscribe to as many as you want.
you can put the followers in reader or you can just select a button to import them and read all the blogs in one place.
reader is just like followers in that you can click to go to actual posts and leave comments. you can also share your favorites with other google reader users, star posts you love, etc.
