I just wanted to let everyone know that I feel so bad for neglecting my blog this week. The posts have been hurried, and I haven't personally added anything to them. As you know, Monday I was sick. Tuesday I still was not feeling great. Wednesday I left work early to pick my mother up for a doctor appointment. A bit of background on my mom...she is 74 and not in good health. She lives by herself, which is going to have to change very very soon. When I got to her apartment, she was lying on her side in bed, unable to get up. She said her back hurt so bad that she couldn't move. She had been lying there for about 16-18 hours and could not get up even to use the bathroom. I was scared out of my mind...I called 911, and she was taken to the hospital. She has 2 compress fractures in her vertebrae. Today she is trying to decide whether or not to be fitted with a brace, or have a procedure done where they inject a type of bone cement into her vertebrae to alleviate the pressure and pain.
So, long story short, I am a frazzled mess. I took a vacation day from work today so I could be at the hospital today with her. My husband was off yesterday and sat with her.
I hope to catch up on reading and commenting on blogs soon. I just didn't want anyone to think I was being standoffish.
Thank you to all of you for being my friends and sounding board. I will try to do an update post later today.

I'm so sorry about your mother. She must have been in terrible pain. Hopefully it can be relieved. Yes, her living arrangements need to be changed. Hope you can work that out for her.

Dont you dare worry about not posting or catching up on blogs. I think you have enough on your plate and anyone who cant understand is not worth your friendship. The blogs aren't going anywhere we will be here when you are ready!

Im glad your mother is ok. What a terrifying thing to have happen.I wish her a speedy recovery and I hope you also are feeling better soon.

*hugs*

Oh, Missy, please don't worry about your blog! Your mom needs you right now, and you need to take care of yourself, too, and rest when you can. We're here for you, and we understand that real life gets in the way sometimes. It happens to all of us. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.((HUGS))

You know the family is always the most important, hobbies come second. So don't worry about your blog especially that your posts were still worth reading. I hope your mom gets better and that you're there for her is most important.

Missy, don't worry about it. Just take care of your mom. My mom has a lot of back problems so I know how hard it is to care for someone with them and how hard it is for them. I'll be praying for your mom. Take care. Hugs.

Mom comes first!!! I know I'd freak out as well, so you probably need a day or two to recover.
I lost a couple close friends on the Fourth when that fireworks truck exploded on Ocracoke Island, so I've been pretty sparse the past two weeks dealing with funerals, memorials, and myself.
Family & friends always come first in our lives.

Oh, Missy! I am so sorry to hear about your mother! How scary! Do you know how she hurt her back?

Don't worry about posts and all right now. Take care of your mom and yourself! I have been playing catch up with reading blogs this week. It happens. Life comes up.

I hope your mother is okay and that you are able to figure out the best place for your mom to stay.

I am so sorry to hear about your mum. Though I read from your other post that she had the operation. I hope all is well soon. Take your time and we will all still be here when you get back.
