~Book Review - Surviving A House Full Of Whispers by Sharon Wallace~

This book was sent to me by Sharon Wallace, the author. Thank you Sharon, for giving me the opportunity to read and review your book.

Nobody believed her. Sharon Wallace suffered physical and sexual abuse from her stepfather for years, and no one believed that she was telling the truth. She left home at sixteen years of age. She pleaded for help from Social Services. They didn't offer much help, other than to send her off to temporary jobs, where she would have a place to live...but not for long.
Because of the constant abuse that Sharon received over the years, she had toughened up as a person and did not trust anyone. All that she wanted was love and acceptance from her family, especially from her mother, who knew that Sharon was being abused and never did anything about it.
Sharon kept moving forward, without any love or help from her family. She met Mike, a kind and gentle man who eventually became her husband. Together they had 5 sons and a loving marriage. Sharon was needed and loved...and thriving as a mom.
Unfortunately, Sharon would once more be put to the test when they find out Mike is terminally ill, and then Sharon herself is diagnosed with cancer.

My Thoughts: Sharon Wallace is a very tough lady. Her memoir is a gritty, brutal, honest glimpse into what it takes to fight physical and sexual abuse, and still come out on top - A wife, mother, and friend to many. No one can imagine the pain that she went through at such a young age, and then to find out there is another battle to be fought ahead of her. This is the first book in her trilogy...she has a lot more to tell. I admire Sharon and her strength to overcome her "night demon". She has been able to love and trust again and to most of all, love herself.
