Hmmm, I would have to say the saddest book I have read lately was "William Henry is a Fine Name" It was about slavery and the Underground railroad. It was sad and shocking at times and I cried several times. Its not the saddest book I have ever read just the saddest lately.
I'm not familiar with this book but the cover is lovely. I've read several sad books, but I thoroughly enjoy the books that bring out the emotions in me.
I don't think I've heard of this one but I have had my share of sad for a while I think :) Also, I just noticed that your puppy is Lilly! And she is soooooo cute! But then again, with a name like that she's bound to be ;)
Lilly: Another blogger told me that when she saw Lilly she was "blinded by her cuteness!" :) She is my baby, and lays on my lap while I read. She will be 2 years old in November.
I already responded above, but wanted to provide you with a smile after a "sad" post . . . I've got an award for you over at my blog!! Check it out at http://tiftalksbooks.blogspot.com/2009/09/awards-make-me-smile.html
Why in childhood and youth do we wish time to pass so quickly - we want to grow up so fast - yet as adults we wish just the opposite? From: My Dog Skipby Willie Morris

I chose The Crying Tree by Naseem Rakha.

My saddest book was Made in the USA by Billie Letts.
