UNREAD
Is there a book that you wish you could “unread”? One that you disliked so thoroughly you wish you could just forget that you ever read it?
The answer to this question is most definitely Jack Ketchum's The Girl Next Door. I was under the impression that it was a horror story of sorts...with ghosts, spirits, monsters...whatever. No. This turned out to be the most horrific story of human cruelty and evil...
If you want a better idea of what this book is about, just click HERE and read some of the reviews on Librarything. A whole lot of people feel the same way about this book as I do.
Which book is your UNREAD?

I can't think of a book that I wish I could "unread". Usually if it doesn't have me hooked by the 3rd chapter, I'm outta there! Love your blog, btw!
It seemed like the people on LibraryThing were either really low ratings (views similiar to yours) or five-star ratings because, for what it was, they thought the book was good. Do you think if you'd known what the book was about going into it, you would have enjoyed it more? (Or would you have skipped it all together?)
Heather: I definitely would have skipped it.
I've read this book over 10 years ago and thought it was scary, because it was a child abuse thing.
It's not a book for everyone :)
The Alchemist did it for me! I avoid Coelho like a plague now!
That sounds awful Missy!
My "unread" would definitely be Water for Elephants. It's on a subject I love (and that I wrote my thesis on), but it was just incredibly disappointing for me.
You know, I have started to pick that book up so many times and never have!
I have not attempted this one!
I haven't read this one and it doesn't sound like anything I'd like.
For me, it is Lucky Jim by Kingsley Amis. It was supposed to be funny, but it turned out to be extremely boring. But I don't want to forget it... it's better to remember such books and avoid the author in future.
I enjoy horror books, but that sounds like something I will never read. Thanks for the heads up!
