Arrggg!

Does anybody ever find themselves trying to read a book, and you just don't care about it? Like picking it up is a chore? I have had two books in the last 2 weeks that have been like that. I just can't read them. Is this what they call "Readers Block"? I had to give up on The Sweet In-Between by Sheri Reynolds, which was SUCH a disappointment, because I loved her other novels, especially Bitteroot Landing, and Firefly Cloak. The story seemed like it wasn't going anywhere but in a circle. The next one that I absolutely have to give up on, is The Dead Don't Dance by Charles Martin. I am on page (yawn....) 49, and I just can't make myself read anymore. Why do I feel so guilty??? So, I am changing 2 books on my Spring Reading Challenge to others which I hope will be more interesting.

Oh, it's happened to me. There's only been a few that I've given up on this year but finally I just closed the cover and moved on. Life is too short not to read something I'm going to enjoy.

I agree. I feel like I am wasting precious reading time when I am TRYING to read a book, instead of reading and relishing it! :)

I had to give up on a Charles Martin book recently. It wasn't the Dead Don't Dance--I did get through that one--but something about a River maybe? It was his newest. Sad because I loved When Crickets Cry.

I felt that way about Three Cups of Tea, but forced myself to finish it as it was and still is such a big hit...I kept thinking I would eventually fall in love with it. I didn't. Oh, well.

Maybe I give up too easily....but I don't like to sit and suffer through a book. I enjoy reading too much! LOL
