Booking Through Thursday - Break
Today's BTT question is:
Do you take breaks while reading a book? Or read it straight through? (And, by breaks, I don’t mean sleeping, eating and going to work; I mean putting it aside for a time while you read something else.) .
I sometimes do take breaks, but usually that means that I am not really into the book. I find it difficult to put a book down for a period of time, then start reading another one, then go back to the original, because I get characters and plots confused.
If I am really enjoying a book, then there are no breaks. Every waking moment when I am not at work, I am reading it.
What about you?

No, I usually read the whole book. I have had to stop reading a few books and put them aside, but not really a break. It was because i was not enjoying it and wanted to try it another time.
I read poetry in between.
BTT: Breaks
I guess I've learned the art of multi-tasking, because I usually read 2-3 books at a time. So I'm constantly setting a book down and moving to another.
I love it when I find a book that makes me want to read it right through to the end, without picking up any others. Doesn't happen often, though.
I usually read through the book too, unless I am not really into it. For this reason, I read one book at a time. I used to read at the same time a few years ago, but that did not work for me as I was not focussing very well on either.
I too read through the book unless I am not enjoying it at all, which happens rarely. For this reason, I can only read one book at a time. I have tried reading two at the same time, but found that I don't focus on either very well.
Nope--no breaks. I do read several books at once, rotating chapters or times of day.
I like to read the whole book...but that said, I like to read books that MAKE me want to read the whole thing without interruptions :)
One book at a time, and a straight sitting, that's me. Here's mine.
I read so fast that I do stick with a book until the end.
I have many books going at a time but I don't consider the small breaks between them as "breaks". You can see my full answer here.
I get the characters confused too, but sometimes I need to stop in order to finish something else. Here is my response:

If it's a book I'm really into, I'll often read it in one sitting. If it's something that's very densely detailed, I have to read a little bit at a time. I usually try and read one book at a time; sometimes I get plot lines confused if I read multiple books at once.
