Gluttony ~Booking Through Thursday~

Mariel suggested this week’s question

Book Gluttony! Are your eyes bigger than your book belly? Do you have a habit of buying up books far quicker than you could possibly read them? Have you had to curb your book buying habits until you can catch up with yourself? Or are you a controlled buyer, only purchasing books when you have run out of things to read?

I would definitely say yes, I suffer from Book Gluttony. My TBR pile has steadily grown over the months to the point where I find myself questioning "will I even live long enough to read all of these books?"

Books are my greatest weakness. About once a month, I go through my TBR pile, and read the back covers and flaps to reintroduce myself with the stories. Often times I find that I am not interested in the story anymore...it doesn't hold "the spark" it did when I first bought and or traded it. When that happens, I donate those books to the Senior apartment complex library where my mom lives, or the county libraries.

At the rate I'm going, I will never run out of books to read. I have a full stocked library to last me a very long time. :)

I am the same way, but instead of buying I borrow from the local library. I always borrow too many though and always have to bring back books that I haven't read. But I keep them on my TBR list with the hope that I will borrow it again or break down and buy it!

I am starting to have piles in my home office that are getting out of control. I love getting new books, but I guess I need to learn to let go of the old ones too...that's another problem I have! lol

You have described me to a tee. I definitely have book gluttony. But I just can't help myself. LOL. I think the call us bibliophiles.

I don't think there is any one of us who isn't a book glutton!

Oh Missy you stole my line!

" My hope is that I live long enough to read all the books I want to read".

I am a glutton when it comes to books. My logic is that someday I may not be able to obtain more books for whatever reason but I will have enough to keep me reading for a lontime!

I am a book glutton, too. I have had to ban myself from stepping foot inside a used book store because the temptation is too great. They're so cheap! They're a steal! Yeah, until you buy ten and suddenly you're out money and space in your house. I have about 150 books in my room right now that need to be read. And my TBR list is also so long I don't know if I can finish it in my lifetime!
