~Book Review - Silent Cry by Julie Bigg Veazy~

I really liked this book, set in the 1950's at a girls boarding school (Winthrop Academy).

A group of girls that live on the same corridor become fast friends.
There are a couple of storylines in the book - one about Nancy, a girl whose mother enrolls her in the school mid-year, which is a big clue that something is not right. Nancy must have done something really wrong to be accepted to the school in the middle of the year.
Jennifer, Nancy's roommate, is beautiful, rich, sarcastic, and has a huge crush on one of their professors. All of the girls are wondering how far Jennifer is willing to go with this crush.....

The story is filled with midnight raids to the kitchen, a formal dance, gossip and cigarettes in the smoking lounge, and forming bonds with each other.
This was a quick, enjoyable read.

Hi Missy. First, your furry kids make me smile each time I land on your blog : )

Ok, this book looks interesting. Question: Is it YA?

Sounds like my life in the 1970's at Mississippi University for Women! I'll check it out.

This sounds really appealing. I was leery of reading the description based on the title so I'll have to do some more research and make sure it's not hiding something scary that would be too much for my cowardly self!

Mary: I don't think so, but I am not 100% positive. I looked on Amazon, and it does not list it as YA. :)

Thanks for the compliment on my pets...they make me smile each and every day!

It does sound like YA though, doesn't it. I think it sounds fabulous and reminds me of the books I read as a child.
