~More 1983~

It was another awesome year! I was a senior in high school, having fun, partying, cheerleading...and the music was phenomenal once again!
The summer was probably the best it ever was and ever will be. Actually, it was SO good that Dawn and I were reminded on a daily basis by her mother. She would say......"You girls better enjoy this summer, because you will never have another one like it....." She was right. It was the last summer of:
  1. Being at the beach all summer (June through August).
  2. Having no responsibilities whatsoever.
  3. Eating what we wanted and staying thin.
  4. Laying out in the sun all day without burning.
  5. Sneaking out in the middle of the night to be with our guys (and never getting caught!)
And....just basically not having a care in the world for 8+ weeks.

I had to start college in the fall...but that was so far away I couldn't even see it in my mind. All there was, was sand, sun, guys, parties....who cares?!?

This particular summer, we hung out with some others besides Mike and Todd. Dawn was going out with Todd's older brother Tony (whom we dubbed "Rod Stewart...he had the hair) and I went out with his friend, Bill. I was Bill Obsessed that summer. Awwww, but he was soooooo cute! What is so strange, is that I was living in NY at the time, but vacationing with Dawn in SC...Bill's family had a house in North Myrtle as well, and he was from Raleigh, NC...where he still lives to this day...It is also where I live now! Nope, I have never run into him. (I will add a funny story about this in one of my upcoming Flashbacks...).

and her friend Kelly......

The Ozzy Osbourne song is from 1981, but Dawn and I listened to Diary of A Madman all summer of 1983, so it reminds me of that year......

What were YOU doing in 1983????
